The Opportunity

You will be our first dedicated Engineering Lead, responsible for building production-grade AI agents and automation systems across marketing and operations. You will begin hands-on, developing foundational agents at WebLife (our internal testbed) and with early clients, before growing into a technical leadership role—hiring, mentoring, and managing the agent engineering team.

This role blends deep technical execution with the opportunity to define our agent architecture, engineering standards, and delivery approach from the ground up.

What You Will Own

AI Agent & Automation Delivery

  • Build and deploy production-grade AI agents and automation systems supporting real business workflows across marketing, operations, and customer experience.

  • Collaborate with marketing and operations leads (who map workflows and define what agents should do) to design the technical architecture and implementation approach.

  • Work hands-on with LLMs, APIs, vector databases, and automation platforms to deliver end-to-end systems.

Architecture, Standards & Quality

  • Establish architectural patterns, templates, and practices that ensure consistency, reliability, and scalability as the team scales.

  • Set up the foundational infrastructure: deployment approaches, observability (logging, monitoring, evaluation), and integration patterns for connecting agents to business tools.

  • Document your approach, learnings, and technical decisions to enable future team members.

Engineering Leadership & Delivery Management (Growing Responsibility)

  • Start as the hands-on technical execution—building agents and establishing delivery patterns.

  • Hire and mentor engineers as the team scales, leading multiple AI and automation initiatives in parallel.

  • Collaborate closely with operations and leadership to align technical delivery with business priorities.

What You Will Bring

Required Experience

  • Proven experience building and deploying production AI agents or intelligent automation systems in real business environments.

  • Strong proficiency in Python, with the ability to design clean, maintainable systems and integrations.

  • Hands-on experience with large language models, including prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and tool-calling patterns.

  • Experience deploying systems to production: CI/CD, logging, monitoring, and cloud infrastructure.

  • Experience with automation and orchestration platforms such as n8n, Make, Zapier, or equivalent systems.

  • Prior experience mentoring engineers or leading technical initiatives, with demonstrated ability to balance hands-on work and leadership.

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with AI agent frameworks and modern LLM tooling (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar).

  • Knowledge of vector databases in production environments.

  • Track record building and scaling engineering teams, including hiring and onboarding.

  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-moving, distributed team environments.
