This short-term role requires a hands-on technical leader who can guide our team from scalable infrastructure design through to final AI agent deployment, operating in our flexible work-from-home environment while driving rapid implementation of cutting-edge automation solutions from our WebLife Labs division in Sri Lanka.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Design and Architecture
- Design scalable n8n-based infrastructure architecture that can support multiple AI agents and complex workflow automations
- Lead the creation of comprehensive data warehouse solutions using BigQuery and vector databases to enable AI-powered analytics and retrieval
- Establish technical standards and best practices for n8n workflow design, configuration, and deployment
- Create comprehensive system architecture documentation and n8n implementation guidelines for the team
- Design integration patterns and data flow architectures using n8n's capabilities to ensure reliability and scalability
- Architect AI-accessible data infrastructure that supports real-time querying, vector similarity search, and intelligent data retrieval
Team Guidance and Technical Mentorship
- Guide and mentor a cross-functional team of developers, analysts, and business stakeholders through n8n implementation and AI agent development
- Provide hands-on technical guidance and advisory support on n8n workflow design, optimization, and AI agent integration
- Conduct technical reviews and quality assurance for all n8n workflow implementations
- Transfer knowledge and best practices to ensure team self-sufficiency with n8n after project completion
AI Agent Development and Implementation
- Build and configure AI agents using n8n workflows integrated with OpenAI API, Claude API, or similar AI technologies
- Design intelligent automation workflows within n8n that can handle complex business logic and decision-making
- Implement AI agents that can query and retrieve data from BigQuery and vector databases for context-aware responses
- Implement natural language processing capabilities and conversational AI interfaces using n8n's AI node capabilities
- Test and optimize AI agent performance within n8n workflows for accuracy, reliability, and user experience
- Create AI agents capable of performing complex data analysis and retrieval from the data warehouse infrastructure
Data Infrastructure and Warehouse Leadership
- Lead the design and implementation of enterprise data warehouse solutions using Google BigQuery for scalable analytics
- Architect and deploy vector database solutions (Pinecone, Weaviate, or Chroma) for AI-powered similarity search and retrieval
- Create data pipelines that feed structured and unstructured data into both BigQuery and vector databases
- Design data schemas and indexing strategies optimized for AI agent querying and real-time analytics
- Establish data governance, security, and access control frameworks for AI-accessible data infrastructure
- Implement ETL processes and data synchronization between operational systems and the data warehouse
No-Code Platform Implementation
- Implement and configure n8n workflows for enterprise-scale automation and AI agent orchestration
- Build complex automated workflows using n8n that integrate multiple systems and handle sophisticated business processes
- Connect n8n workflows to BigQuery and vector databases for seamless data access and AI-powered operations
- Establish monitoring, logging, and error handling frameworks within n8n for production-ready solutions
- Create reusable n8n workflow templates and custom nodes for future development initiatives
Requirements and Experience
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
Experience: 6+ years in solution architecture or technical leadership roles, with 3+ years specifically in n8n or similar workflow automation platforms, AI implementation, and data warehouse solutions (BigQuery experience required)
International Exposure: Proven experience delivering technical solutions for international clients, preferably from US, UK, or Australian technology companies
Technical Competencies
n8n Expertise: Advanced proficiency in n8n workflow design, custom node development, and enterprise-scale implementations
Data Warehouse Architecture: Extensive experience with Google BigQuery design, optimization, and large-scale data analytics implementations
Vector Database Systems: Hands-on experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma) for AI-powered similarity search and retrieval
AI Development: Hands-on experience building and deploying AI agents using n8n integrated with AI APIs and intelligent automation systems
Data Pipeline Engineering: Proven expertise in ETL processes, data modeling, and real-time data synchronization
Integration Architecture: Deep knowledge of API design, webhook implementation, and system integration patterns specifically within n8n workflows
Cloud Infrastructure: Experience with Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery administration, and n8n deployment for scalable automation solutions
Performance Optimization: Proven ability to optimize n8n workflow performance, BigQuery queries, and AI agent efficiency
Leadership and Project Skills
Technical Guidance: Demonstrated ability to guide and advise technical teams through complex implementation projects
Rapid Delivery: Experience delivering technical solutions under tight deadlines and compressed project timelines
Knowledge Transfer: Strong capability in documenting processes and training team members for ongoing maintenance
