About WebLife Labs

WebLife Labs is the innovation arm of WebLife Stores LLC, a leading eCommerce management and operations company founded in 2008. With over $250 million in lifetime revenue and 16+ years as one of the largest mailbox distributors in the U.S., we've built a foundation that works. Now we're expanding that foundation into EdTech, SaaS, and HR & Recruitment—building a portfolio of ventures that matter.

Our mission is simple: transform potential into performance. We combine the stability of proven eCommerce operations with the energy of an innovation hub. If you want to build systems that scale, work with executives who value your expertise, and operate in an environment where AI and automation are tools (not buzzwords), keep reading.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Financial Controller who can own the financial operations across our U.S.-based portfolio. This isn't a "maintain the status quo" role. You'll build the financial infrastructure that lets us scale multiple ventures simultaneously—establishing frameworks, leading a small but mighty team, and partnering directly with executive leadership on decisions that matter.
The Scope:
Multiple U.S. entities, each doing $10M+ in annual revenue, processing 1,000+ transactions monthly. You'll consolidate, report, and optimize across the portfolio while ensuring each venture has what it needs to operate independently.
The team:
You'll lead a team of 2–3 finance professionals (with plans to grow), working closely with our CEO and venture leaders. This is a high-trust, high-autonomy role where your judgment matters.
The reality:
You'll need to ramp quickly. We're not looking for someone who needs six months to get comfortable. But "ramp quickly" doesn't mean you're on your own—you'll have direct access to leadership, clear documentation of our current state, and a team that wants you to succeed.

What You'll Own

  • Financial Operations Leadership: Own full-cycle accounting and financial operations across a portfolio of U.S. ventures, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
  • Systems & Reporting Implementation: Design and implement financial systems and reporting frameworks for portfolio-level consolidation, leveraging advanced tools like Xero and Zoho.
  • Strategic Planning & Analysis: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking across ventures, leveraging financial modeling and ROI analysis to drive strategic decisions.
  • Cash Flow & Working Capital Management: Optimize cash flow, cost structures, and working capital while overseeing AR, AP, and treasury functions for financial stability.
  • Month-End Close Management: Establish and execute streamlined month-end closing processes, including preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and SOPs, to include streamlining revenue recognition.
  • Internal Controls & Risk Management: Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets, ensure accurate financial reporting, and mitigate financial risks.
  • Compliance & Tax Expertise: Ensure full compliance with U.S. GAAP standards, manage complex U.S. sales tax, know the difference between Use Tax and Sales Tax as a remote seller, and coordinate audit preparations.
  • Automation & Innovation: Drive AI-enabled reporting, reconciliation tools, and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy across financial processes.
  • Multi-Entity Consolidation: Manage financial consolidation and reporting for multiple U.S. companies with annual revenues exceeding $10M each and 1,000+ monthly transactions.
  • Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with the executive leadership on strategic financial planning, decision-making, and growth initiatives.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and excellence.
